When a video of “Tiger King” cast member Jeff Lowe stating a new episode of “Tiger King” would be released today began to circulate, the internet was buzzing with excitement, but there was no word from Netflix. Many were left wondering could it really be true?

The answer is, in fact, yes. (Well, partially.)

Yesterday Netflix announced it will be releasing a “Tiger King” after-the-show special hosted by Joel McHale called “The Tiger King and I,” featuring interviews with some of the show’s favorites — but none of the main stairs, as it seems Joe Maldonado-Passage (aka Joe Exotic), Doc Antle and Carole Baskin are not to be featured.

So while the date and concept Lowe gave in his original video were somewhat correct, CNN reports “The Tiger King and I” will indeed be dropping on April 12 (Easter Sunday), and will continue the “Tiger King” story.

The special follow-up episode will focus on updating the audience on how the documentary’s participants’ lives have changed since the show was released on March 20, Fox News reports.

In addition to the new Netflix episode, the Deseret News previously reported that Investigation Discovery is working on a new series that will look into “the exclusive secrets only Joe knows, the exclusive footage that has never been shown and the search to answer the one question every person in America is asking themselves right now: although she’s denied it, is Carole Baskin responsible for the disappearance of her husband?”
