“Tiger King” co-directors Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin revealed in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter who Joe Exotic wants to play him in a potential TV show or movie.
What’s going on:
- “Tiger King: Murder, Madness, and Mayhem” is a viral Netflix documentary that tells the story of Joe Exotic, a big game breeder and owner in Oklahoma. The documentary reveals the seedy underworld of the big game industry.
- There have been calls for Exotic’s story to be retold for TV or a feature film already.
- But filmmakers Chaiklin and Goode said they’ve spoken with Joe Exotic about his interests, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
- Chaiklin said: “He would like Brad Pitt or David Spade to play him.”
- But, according to Chaiklin, Exotic referred to Spade as “Joe Dirt” — a reference to the 2001 comedy film with Spade played a oddball janitor who, like Exotic, had a mullet.
