“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” is now officially available on Disney Plus, giving “Star Wars” fans the entire Skywalker Saga in one place.

What’s the news:

  • To celebrate “Star Wars Day” — it is, after all, May the 4th — Disney Plus released “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” on its streaming service.
  • “Rise of Skywalker” is the ninth and final film in the Skywalker Saga, which tells the story of Anakin and Luke Skywalker, as well as newcomer Rey.
  • With “Rise of Skywalker,” Disney Plus is now home to the prequel, original and sequel trilogy of films, as well as “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” Animated shows like “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels” are also included on the service now, as well as the newcomer live-action show “Star Wars: The Mandalorian.”

At the end of April, Disney Plus announced “Rise of Skywalker” would arrive on May 4. The company announced the series finale of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” would be available (it’s typically released on Fridays), along with the premiere of “Gallery: The Mandalorian,” a behind-the-scenes show.
