Walt Disney World has a new ticket offer for Florida residents amid the coronavirus pandemic, a potential sign of what’s to come at Disneyland.

What’s happening:

  • Walt Disney World has announced the new Disney Magic Flex Ticket, which costs $130 for a two-day ticket that can be used in September.
  • Normal tickets for Walt Disney World cost $109 per day. So that’s a ‘W.’
  • Guests can upgrade the ticket for a three-day ticket, which costs $174, or a four-day ticket, which costs $195.
  • However, the three-day option only works from July 22 to Nov. 20. The four-day option runs from Nov. 20 to Nov. 29.
  • And one big caveat here — the ticket “can be used at one Disney World theme park per day and on nonconsecutive days,” per Spectrum News 13 in Orlando.

Will the same happen at Disneyland?

  • Disneyland in California remains closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Disney planned to reopen the theme park on July 17 — the park’s 65th anniversary, as I wrote about for Deseret.com.
  • However, California — which has seen a spike in COVID-19 cases — would not offer guidance for the park to reopen.
  • Disney World became the first U.S. Disney park to reopen, paving the way for what’s to come at Disneyland when the park reopens. This ticket option could be a sign of what’s to come if Disney continues to use Walt Disney World as a template for how to reopen.
