A new “Star Wars” rumor suggests that the star of “The Mandalorian” — Pedro Pascal — quit the show halfway through production.

What’s going on?

Grace Randolph — who has reported on “Star Wars” rumors before — said Pascal left production halfway through because he “had numerous disagreements with the creative team and went to the studio behind their backs to plead his case, which allegedly resulted in the former ‘Game of Thrones’ star being given his marching orders,” according to We Got This Covered.

  • According to Rudolph, Pascal wanted scenes without his helmet on — something that goes against The Mandalorian creed in the show. He was reportedly denied and decided to leave after that happened.
  • Rudolph previously reported a major shift in the middle of the second season, which drew a lot of attention on social media.
  • This has not been confirmed by Disney. I’ve reached out to Disney Plus for comment.

Why it matters:

If Pascal decided to leave the show, there might not be a massive change. According to reports, Pascal records his voice for the character, while Brandan Wayne, the grandson of legendary Western actor John Wayne, performs the stunts for the character and appears in the suit.

Wayne said he works with Pascal during production, though, for motivations for the characters, Business Insider reports.

  • “(Pascal) would ask me, and I would ask him the same question, which is, ‘Why did you move like this during that moment?’” Wayne said. “We would go back and forth. The great thing about him is he’s not impressed with himself. He’s just an actor. And I mean that in the good way, not the bad way. He likes to learn and he likes to collaborate and he’s very good at it.”
