It’s official — Disneyland is open again.
Disneyland has reopened after 13 months of being closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Disneyland is coming back with new health and safety protocols in place, including reduced capacity and instructions for social distancing.
- Currently, only California residents can visit the park, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. PT.
Fans gathered early at the theme park, sharing photos of what they saw inside the Disney gates ahead of the reopening, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Disneyland closed its doors in March 2020 after the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak. The theme park tried to reopen in summer 2020, but California never issued any state guidelines that would have allowed the park to open up. The park flirted with reopening by allowing the Downtown Disney shopping and dining area to reopen.
But Friday represents the first time Disneyland is allowed to open up to the public at large, following the footsteps of Walt Disney World, which reopened in Florida in summer 2020.
