We know the new hosts for the show to replace the late Rush Limbaugh, and it’s two people — Clay Travis and Buck Sexton, according to The Wall Street Journal.
- Limbaugh died from lung cancer on Feb. 17. No immediate replacement was announced.

The new show will be called “The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show.”
- “We’re not going to replace Rush Limbaugh, we’re going to have an evolution of the show with fresh voices — those that grew up on Rush and admired him,” said Julie Talbott, president of iHeartMedia Inc.’s Premiere Networks, according to The Wall Street Journal.
When will it air?
Sexton and Travis will take over the three-hour radio show in the same time slot beginning June 21.
- The show is expected to run from noon to 3 p.m. ET.
What will ‘The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show’ be about?
Per The Wall Street Journal, the show “will serve up similar right-wing fare, tackling news stories of the day, politics and current events, peppered with call-ins from listeners and humor.”
- The distributor, Premiere Networks, said it hopes the younger hosts will bring something new to the radio show.
Who is Clay Travis?
- Per The New York Times, Travis started the sports and politics website Outkick.com, which was bought by Fox. He has a sports radio show on Fox Sports and a TV betting show.
- Sexton, meanwhile, is a former CIA officer who has a three-hour talk radio program. He sometimes appears on Fox News, too, according to The New York Times.
Other replacement ideas:
After Limbaugh died, there was immediate speculation about who could take over the role on his show. Former President Donald Trump’s name was floated as an instant ratings success, but it didn’t go anywhere, according to Deseret News.
- Some other names floated by experts included Ben Shapiro, founder of The Daily Wire, and Brett Winterble, who has a radio show in Charlotte, North Carolina.
