Hollywood actors and celebrities are among the thousands evacuated from their homes as wildfires in Southern California rage on.

More than 1,000 homes and 3,000 acres have burned in the ongoing Los Angeles county fires, reports the Los Angeles Times. The outlet called it “one of the most destructive firestorms to hit the region in memory.”

Portions of the Southern California coast are under an Extremely Critical Fire Weather Area watch through Wednesday, reported the National Weather Service. Several Hollywood stars residing in the area have reported evacuating their homes and expressed concern over whether their homes will survive the blaze.

Hollywood stars comment on California wildfires

Steve Guttenberg

Steve Guttenberg, the actor known for “Three Men and a Baby” and “Police Academy,” spoke with local news outlet KTLA while assisting in evacuation in Pacific Palisades. Guttenberg urged evacuating residents to leave their keys inside their cars when abandoning them, so roads can be cleared for first responders.

The actor said he is assisting in moving abandoned cars off roads.

“What’s happening is people take their keys with them as if they’re in a parking lot. This is not a parking lot. We really need people to move their cars,” Guttenberg told KTLA. “If you leave your car behind, leave the key in there so a guy like me can move your car so that these fire trucks can get up there.

“There are people stuck up there. So we’re trying to clear Palisades Drive and I’m walking up there as far as I can moving cars,” he continued. “There are families up there, there are pets up there. There are people who really need help.”

Jamie Lee Curtis

In an Instagram post, Jamie Lee Curtis said, “My community and possibly my home is on fire. My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well.

“It is a terrifying situation and I’m grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze,” she continued. “Stay out of the way and let the firefighters do their work. Pray if you believe in it and even if you don’t, pray for those who do.”

Chris Pratt

Marvel actor Chris Pratt asked his X followers to “send prayers and strength tonight to everyone in Los Angeles affected by these devastating fires.”

He also thanked firefighters and first responders for their efforts against the blaze. “You are true heroes, and we are endlessly grateful for your sacrifice and courage,” he wrote on X.

Derek Hough

“Praying for all the people affected by these fires,” Derek Hough wrote in an Instagram story. The “Dancing with the Stars” judge added, “Thank you to all the heroic firefighters who are risking it all.”

Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill provided a personal update with the fire in an Instagram post, noting that he was evacuated “last minute” from Malibu on Tuesday night.

“Stay safe everyone” he wrote on the post.

Eugene Levy

Comedian Eugene Levy, who is currently Honorary Mayor of the Pacific Palisades, was forced to evacuate his home Tuesday, he confirmed in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

“The smoke looked pretty black and intense over Temescal Canyon,” Levy told the Times. “I couldn’t see any flames, but the smoke was very dark.”

James Woods

Oscar-nominated actor James Woods said he does not know if his “home is still standing” post-evacuation, he wrote on X, adding that, “sadly houses on our little street are not” still standing.

Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore said on Wednesday that she, her husband and their three children had safely evacuated their home, Moore shared via Instagram.

“Grateful for the kindness of friends that we had a place to land last night,” she added in a second post. “Trying to shield the kids from the immense sadness and worry I feel. Praying for everyone in our beautiful city. So gutted for the destruction and loss. Don’t know if our place made it.”

Josh Gad

“I hope everyone is staying safe tonight in the affected fire areas in Los Angeles,” actor Josh Gad wrote on Instagram.

Candace Cameron Bure

Candace Cameron Bure shared a photo of the wildfire on social media, noting it is “devastating to watch.”

“Please pray the winds die down as it’s expected to get worse into the early morning hours. Please pray for the safety of firefighters and emergency crews who are fearlessly trying to tackle this disaster. Pray for the safety of every resident,” she wrote in the post.

In a follow-up post on Wednesday, Bure shared she “woke up to the same flames” and is ”praying God pours rain down on Los Angeles.”
