The cast of Netflix’s hit-series “Nobody Wants This” reunited this week for a table read of Season 2.
“Season 2 table read!! We back baby,” the show’s creator, Erin Foster, posted on social media, reported Entertainment Tonight. “It was good to be back,” Foster wrote in a second post.
Netflix renewed “Nobody Wants This” for a sophomore season in December.
“Creating ‘Nobody Wants This’ will forever be a career highlight for me,” Foster told Netflix. “The incredible cast, crew, producers, and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed.”
“I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story,” she added.
Here is everything we know about Season 2 of “Nobody Wants This.”
What will ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2 be about?
Season 2 of “Nobody Wants This” will pick up right where Season one left off and continue at a similar pace, Foster says.
“The story in Season 1 unfolds really slowly. And so I think if there is a Season 2 I would want to just kind of pick up where we leave off and continue to take it slow, because I don’t want us to get too far ahead of ourselves. I mean, I want my show to be on the air as long as possible!” Foster told IndieWire.
The first season left off on a cliff-hanger. Following a whirlwind romance, Joanne (Kirsten Bell) and Rabbi Noah Roklov (Adam Brody) are forced to faced their differences.
Noah is an aspiring head rabbi who is pressured by his family and community to marry a Jewish woman, but Joanne is nonreligious. She is considering conversion, but isn’t quite ready to commit to the process.
“I think that’s what the show can explore,” Brody told Netflix. “What should he do? What should she do? What version of sacrifice is worth it? What constitutes growth, or what constitutes dimming yourself to be with someone else? It’s a sacrifice, but ideally, you grow together and you’re better for it — you don’t have to (lop) off a limb.”
Who is in the ‘Nobody Want This’ Season 2 cast?
All original cast members, including Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, are expected to return for Season 2, per Netflix. Returning cast members also include Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Emily Arlook, Tovah Feldshuh and Stephanie Faracy.
Jackie Tohn, who plays Esther Roklov — the sister-in-law to Adam Brody’s character Rabbi Noah Roklov — will be upgraded from recurring character to regular character in Season 2, Deadline reported.
Showrunners Jenni Konner (“Girls”) and Bruce Eric Kaplan (“Girls,” “No Good Deed,” “Six Feet Under”), and executive producer Nora Silver (“Deli Boys,” “Single Drunk Female”) have joined for the upcoming new season.
“I am excited beyond belief to be a part of Season 2 of ‘Nobody Wants This,' created by the hilarious Erin Foster,” Kaplan told Netflix. “It is such a unique and beautiful show, and I am already having the best time working on it.”
When does ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2 come out?
There is no official release date for “Nobody Wants This” Season 2, but Netflix says the new season will come out sometime during 2025.
