“KPop Demon Hunters” are returning to the spotlight — though, did they ever leave? Their next “demon” to conquer? The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The fictional K-pop group HUNTR/X, featuring the voices of Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, will perform live for the second time, bringing the group’s sound to life in Herald Square.
The Demon Hunters’ takeover isn’t stopping on the stage. Fan-favorite characters Derpy Tiger and Sussie are joining the parade lineup, making their floating debuts. Derpy Tiger will appear as a full-sized balloon, with Sussie as a balloonicle, an inflatable balloon carried by a vehicle underneath.
What else to expect at the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
This year marks the 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, an American tradition that continues to grow each year. Once again, the “Today” show’s Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker will host the live broadcast.
According to Macy’s, the 2025 lineup will feature performances from Colbie Caillat, Gavin DeGraw, Foreigner, Lil Jon, Roman Mejia, Taylor Momsen, Busta Rhymes, Calum Scott, Shaggy and Teyana Taylor, among others, all set to bring their own talent to Herald Square.
It wouldn’t be the Macy’s parade without its signature stars: the larger-than-life character balloons and decorative floats, and the marching bands from across the nation. This year, fans can expect favorites like Snoopy, Bluey and Spider-Man soaring above the Manhattan streets.
This also introduces brand-new floats from Lego, Lindt and Netflix’s “Stranger Things” — the latter celebrating the release of the hit show’s final season. The first four episodes will drop the day before Thanksgiving, as previously reported by Deseret News.
“Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the official kickoff to the holiday season and has been part of the nation’s stories and traditions for generations,” executive producer of the parade Will Coss said in a statement.
“The most wonderful stories start at the parade. On Thanksgiving morning, larger-than-life character balloons, awe-inspiring floats and showstopping performances will create unforgettable moments and lasting holiday memories for millions of spectators in New York City and across the country.”
The parade will air live on Thursday, Nov. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to noon in all time zones on NBC and Peacock.
