“American Idol” will soon be down to a top 12.
Last week, the remaining contestants took part in a “Songs of Faith” night — returning to an “Idol” theme from this past season when the show aired on Easter Sunday.
But chaos emerged amid the faith-filled performances.
It marked the first live performances of the season, and voting during the episode was supposed to determine the show’s top 12.
When the episode neared the end, though, “Idol” shared that for the first time in the show’s history, it couldn’t easily be determined which two singers were eliminated. The show would have to return the following week to announce its top 12.
Now, ahead of Monday night’s top 12 reveal, here’s a look at the 14 singers still in the competition — and their most recent performances from the “Songs of Faith” episode.

‘American Idol’ finalist talks ‘Songs of Faith’ episode
The “Songs of Faith” episode marks the second time “Idol” has incorporated this theme into the competition.
Last year, “Idol” top five artist Thunderstorm Artis told the Deseret News he was somewhat surprised to find faith such a big part of his season.
“If I had a nickel for every time someone told me, ‘Hey, if you take Jesus out of your music, you’d be way more famous,’ like, I’d be rich,” he said. “There’s so many Christians, from the production team to the people at the top to the people at the bottom. And it’s been amazing. I didn’t know this, that ‘American Idol’ was a spirit-filled organization, so it’s been a beautiful experience.”
Artis, who performed Cory Asbury’s “Reckless Love” during the faith round, called it “really, really special.”
“It’s really awesome to be able to give God glory through song and not just through my actions. So that was really special for me,” he said. “It was also really special to see how well America received that, and also how well all the other contestants really stepped up to the plate to deliver their faith. I honestly could not believe that ‘Idol’ gave us the platform to do such a thing like that.”
What happens next on ‘American Idol’?
The next episode of “Idol” airs Monday. The show will reveal the top 12 at the start.
The remaining 12 contestants will then perform 1990s hits secretly picked by “Idol” judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood. One singer will be eliminated from the competition at the end of the episode.
