The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced dates for the open house and dedication of the Lindon Utah Temple, which is to be the Beehive State’s 25th operating temple.
The Lindon temple will first open its doors to the media next year on March 9, after which invited guests will tour the temple March 10-11, according to a release published Monday on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
Then, starting March 12, guests of all faiths and ages will be welcome to tour the three-story building — located near 800 East and Center Street in Lindon — during a free public open house period that will run every Monday through Saturday until April 11 (excluding Saturday, April 4, for general conference).
Guests visiting the temple during this time can expect the experience to include an introductory video, followed by a guided walk-through with explanations of each area and its significance.
Following the open house period, the Lindon temple will be dedicated Sunday, May 3, with a dedicatory session that will be broadcast to all units in the Lindon Utah Temple district. Details on who will preside over the dedicatory session have not yet been announced.
“As we build and maintain these temples, we pray that each of you will build and maintain yourself so you can be worthy to enter the holy temple,” said the late church President Russell M. Nelson, upon announcing this and five other temples during October 2020 general conference.
One of 32 temples in Utah that are either in operation, under renovation, under construction or announced, the Lindon Utah Temple will help serve the nearly 2.2 million Latter-day Saints that reside in the state.
