The worldwide membership of the church grew to 17,887,212 as of Dec. 31, 2025, according to the church’s annual statistical report.
It is likely the church has surpassed 18 million members during the first quarter of 2026, if the level of growth the church has seen over the past few years has continued.
The report stated that the church had 385,490 convert baptisms in 2025, an increase of nearly 25%.
The statistical report was issued during the Saturday afternoon session of the church’s 196th Annual General Conference.
During the morning session, church members gave their common consent to President Dallin H. Oaks, the faith’s 18th prophet and president.
The net increase of church members in 2025 was 377,431.
The church’s membership numbered:
- 17,509,781 at the end of 2024.
- 17,255,394 at the end of 2023.
- 17,002,461 at the end of 2022.
- 16,805,400 at the end of 2021.
Other statistics from Saturday’s report:
- 32,046 congregations, up 370 from 2024.
- 3,695 stakes, up 87.
- 451 missions, an increase of one.
- 488 districts, a decrease of six.
- 91,835 new children of record, up 218.
- 385,490 converts baptized, up 76,808.
- 78,596 full-time proselyting missionaries, up 4,469.
- 31,613 senior church-service missionaries.
- 4,518 young service missionaries.
The total of 36,131 church service missionaries is up 819 over 2024.
The statistical report noted that the church had 204 temples in operation at the end of 2025, up from 194 at the end of 2024.
The church has announced another 172 temples, many of which are now under construction.
