A groundbreaking date for the Missoula Montana Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been announced, per a news release published Monday on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

Construction of the Missoula temple will formally begin Saturday, June 6, following a groundbreaking ceremony to be held that day. Elder José A. Teixeira, president of the church’s United States Central Area, will preside over the ceremony.

“I plead with you to counter worldly ways by focusing on the eternal blessings of the temple,” former Church President Russell M. Nelson said just moments before announcing the Missoula temple in April 2022 general conference.

“Your time there brings blessings for eternity,” he added.

The Missoula Montana Temple was one of 17 temples announced by President Nelson in April 2022.
