The Knoxville Tennessee Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be dedicated in March 2027, the First Presidency of the church has announced.
The Knoxville temple — which will be the third operating temple in Tennessee — will be dedicated on Sunday, March 7, by Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Before the temple is dedicated, guests of all faiths and ages will be able to tour the Knoxville temple during a free public open house. The open house will run every Monday through Saturday from Wednesday, Jan. 27, through to Saturday, Feb. 13.
Media tours of the temple will be on Jan. 25, with private tours for invited guests following on Jan. 26.
The Knoxville Tennessee Temple was first announced in April 2022 by the late church President Russell M. Nelson. Construction of the temple began in January 2024.
Once dedicated, the Knoxville Tennessee Temple will join the state’s two other currently operating temples in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee. Together, the three temples will serve the state’s nearly 62,000 Latter-day Saints.
