For decades, Chick-fil-A fans have been able to get chicken and waffle fries from the fast-food chain, but starting later this month, customers will be able to get their hands on chicken and waffles as well.
As part of the restaurant’s 80th anniversary celebration, Chick-fil-A is introducing new Chicken & Waffles Sandwiches, which will be available starting Aug. 24.
The sandwiches aren’t the only new menu item coming that day. The chain is also introducing two new s’mores-inspired treats: the S’mores Milkshake and S’mores Frosted Coffee. The s’mores offerings bring “together the nostalgic flavors of a childhood treat, with a Chick-fil-A spin,” per a release from the company.
The new limited-time menu items are part of Chick-fil-A’s yearlong “Newstalgia”-inspired celebrations for the 80th anniversary.
“In this year of Newstalgia-inspired celebrations, we wanted to bring something unique this fall by reimagining the comforting flavors our Guests crave this time of year, delivering a taste that feels both familiar and new to appeal to all ages,” said Allison Duncan, director of menu and packaging for Chick-fil-A, per the company’s release.
“Both Chicken & Waffles and S’mores are much-loved classics, and we challenged ourselves to bring those flavors to our menu in a playful and unexpected way. After seeing the incredible response and excitement from Guests in our test markets, we couldn’t wait to share these flavors nationwide.”
A closer look at Chick-fil-A’s new menu items
Chick-fil-A’s Chicken & Waffles Sandwiches feature maple-flavored waffles, a signature Chick-fil-A filet, three pieces of applewood-smoked bacon and honey butter spread. They will also be served with a side of classic syrup. Customers are able to customize their sandwich by choosing an original, spicy or grilled filet to make the sandwich their own.
The Chicken & Waffles Sandwiches will be available as a breakfast sandwich with a smaller chicken filet and waffle, served during breakfast hours from opening to 10:30 a.m. After 10:30 a.m. until closing, they will be available as an entree option with a full-sized filet and waffle.
The S’mores Milkshake features a mix of the restaurant’s signature “Icedream” dessert, with chocolate shortbread, graham cracker crumbles, marshmallow-flavored syrup and marshmallow-flavored whipped topping.
The S’mores Frosted Coffee is a blend of cold-brewed coffee with marshmallow-flavored syrup, Chick-fil-A’s signature “Icedream” dessert mixed with graham cracker crumbles and chocolate shortbread.
