I own Water Gardens Cinema 6 in Pleasant Grove. We employ adults with families, college and high school students, and special needs individuals, about 20 full-time employees.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought us, theaters across Utah and the entire movie industry, to a halt. We are barely hanging on with scraps of content and very few brave customers.
Sen. Mitt Romney’s strong support of the Save our Stages legislation will help us survive until the vaccine is broadly effective, Hollywood releases new movies, and customers come with pent-up demand to safely gather and enjoy a shared experience on the big screen with their favorite snacks.
Save our Stages is structured to focus on the little guys like us. We are the ones without deep pockets and no capital from the stock market. We are face to face with our customers and our community.
We are very appreciative that Romney urgently and strongly supported Save Our Stages, included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021. Because of his support, we will keep people employed, feed our families, and once again provide vital, safe social gatherings for our community.
