On July 4, 2026 we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The declaration states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
As we look to the future of our country, let us choose faith over fear and hope over division. We can build a stronger nation by becoming more civically engaged and by loving and serving our neighbors.
The 250th anniversary of our nation is a time to celebrate our past and an invitation to shape our future. As former Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis said, “The most important political office is that of the private citizen.” America’s future depends on each of us. Together, we can build a nation where every person has the opportunity to learn, work, contribute and pursue happiness.
