The Utah Utes got the biggest recruiting win in program history on Thursday, as California cornerback Clark Phillips III, the No. 47 prospect in the nation for the Class of 2020 according to 247 Sports, signed with program.

Upon Phillips III officially signing, the Utes indicated he is the highest-rated prospect the program has ever signed. Thursday is his 18th birthday.

The 5-foot-10, 187-pound Phillips III had been committed to Ohio State since June, but the Utes made a strong late push for him.
