The Snow College Badgers announced Tuesday that head coach Andrew Mitchell has resigned, and to replace him, the Badgers are turning to former BYU receiver Zac Erekson, a Springville native who has been the associate head coach since last year.
Erekson played at BYU in 2006 after a time at Dixie State.
Before going to Snow in 2019, Erekson coached at Skyline High School for three seasons. Prior to that, he coached at high schools in Texas for eight years.

“Coach Erekson brings a lot of energy and football coaching experience to the program,” Snow athletic director Robert Nielson said. “He has shown a great deal of leadership among coaches and student-athletes as we continue to navigate through these unprecedented times. We look for coach Erekson to continue the great tradition of Snow College football.”
Mitchell resigned after the Badgers went 5-3 in his lone season in charge in 2019. They have not played in 2020 because of the pandemic.
The school said Mitchell resigned “to pursue other opportunities.”
