The BYU football program on Monday received a commitment from one of the top uncommitted players in Utah in the 2021 class as the early signing period approaches.

Lone Peak’s John Henry Daley announced his pledge to the program via Twitter, choosing the Cougars over the likes of Stanford, Washington State and San Diego State, although it was widely considered that BYU was long the front runner.

Designated as a 3-star athlete by 247 Sports, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound Daley led the state in sacks in 2020 with 22. The next closest player had 14.
