Jaylen Warren has found a new home.
On Wednesday, the first day of the annual early signing period, the Oklahoma State Cowboys announced they have inked the former Utah State Aggie, Snow Badger and East Leopard as part of their 2021 class.
A native of Salt Lake City, Warren has found success at every level of football. During his prep career, he was a star for the Leopards, a record-breaking back and the Deseret News’ 2016 Mr. Football.
In college, Warren starred at Snow, where he was named the 2018 NJCAA National Offensive Player of the Year and an NJCAA first-team All-American, and at Utah State.
Warren joined USU in 2019 and immediately became a key cog in the Aggies’ rushing attack, alongside Gerold Bright. Despite nagging injuries, he played in 12 games last season and finished second on the team in rushing with 569 yards and five touchdowns.
In three games played this season as USU’s featured back, Warren rushed for 252 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 6.3 yards per carry.
Warren entered the transfer portal on Nov. 30, becoming one of six Aggies to pursue their college football future outside of Logan.
Warren wasn’t the only former Snow College Badger to sign with Oklahoma State on Wednesday. Nathan Latu, a former Olympus High Titan, also signed with the Cowboys.
A 6-5, 230-pound outside linebacker/defensive end, Latu recoded 21 tackles, including 8.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks for Snow last season.
Warren and Latu are the latest in a growing number of Utahns to head to Stillwater in recent years. Mason Cobb (Provo High) and Nicolas Session (East High) both joined the Cowboys last year as members of the 2020 signing class.
