Once a walk-on, Utah State point guard Abel Porter, who prepped at Davis High School, is now headed to the Big Ten.

Porter on Saturday announced via Twitter that he will spend his final year of college eligibility at Ohio State after he graduates from Utah State later this spring with a master’s degree.

After a standout high school career with the Darts and a church mission to Russia, Porter joined the Aggies for the 2016-2017 campaign but played in just three games before a season-ending injury. He appeared in 23 games the next year and then became a full-time starter in the 2018-2019 season as Utah State made a surprise run to the Mountain West Conference title and the NCAA Tournament.
