SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Jazz All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell proudly claims Louisville as his alma mater, and on Saturday, that pride was shown off on a big stage.

ESPN’s College GameDay show is in Louisville this week, as the 18th-ranked Cardinals football team will play the 17th-ranked Miami Hurricanes at home on Saturday evening, and as part of the show, Mitchell was part of a high-profile trio that had video messages featured wishing Louisville well.

Joining Mitchell were Baltimore Ravens quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, who also was a Cardinal, and rapper Jack Harlow, a Louisville native.

“What’s up everybody, Donovan Mitchell here, man,” Mitchell said. “Excited to be part of College GameDay. It’s going to be a big game tonight. The last College GameDay we had was when Lamar went off against Florida State (in 2016). I was actually there for that, so pretty special for them to come back to U of L. Unfortunately I can’t be there, but I’m excited, and we’re going to do some big things tonight. And of course, Ls up always and go Cards.”
