The University of Utah football program has landed another commit from the transfer portal, as former Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Brandon “Ale” Kaho announced on Thursday evening that he has pledged to the program.
From Reno, Nevada, Kaho has familiarity with the state of Utah. He committed to BYU during high school but then saw his recruitment take off, and he ultimately signed with the Washington Huskies.
However, after just a short time of being with the Huskies, he asked to be released from his letter of intent. The request was granted by then-Washington head coach Chris Petersen, and Kaho transferred to Alabama.
In three seasons with the Crimson Tide, the 6-foot-1, 235-pound Kaho played mostly on special teams and tallied 32 tackles (14 solo, 18 assisted) and scored a touchdown in 2019 on a punt he blocked.
He announced on Feb. 19 that he was entering the transfer portal.
Kaho will join a linebacking corps at Utah that is headlined by Devin Lloyd and Nephi Sewell.
