Most figured Thursday’s NBA trade deadline would be a quiet one for the Utah Jazz, but they reportedly are making a move.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported about 50 minutes before the 1 p.m. MT deadline that the Jazz are acquiring guard Matt Thomas from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for a future second-round pick.

The Jazz have an open roster spot, and in Thomas they’ll get a 6-foot-4, 190-pound player out of Iowa State who started his professional career in Spain in 2017 before signing with the Raptors in 2019.

Thomas is an excellent shooter, as he made nearly 48% of his 3-point attempts in the 2019-2020 season and nearly 42% this season. He appeared in 41 games for Toronto last season and has played in 26 this season, averaging 2.7 points per contest.
