Craig Smith knows when he’ll get his first crack at BYU as Utah’s men’s basketball coach.

The Utes announced Wednesday that Utah and BYU will play on Nov. 27 in the upcoming season, with the game being played at the Huntsman Center.

Smith is headed into his first season as Utah’s coach after three years at Utah State. He went 0-3 against BYU as the Aggies’ coach, with losses of three and four points the past two seasons.

The Cougars beat the Utes 82-64 last year in the Marriott Center. Utah topped BYU in overtime the last time the two teams played at the Huntsman Center, two seasons ago.

Utah also announced it will host Fresno State on Dec. 21. The game against the Cougars will be the Utes’ first after playing in the Sunshine Slam Tournament in Daytona Beach, Florida.
