If you take a close look at Philadelphia first baseman Bryce Harper’s wrist Monday night, you might notice him sporting a Phillies-colored bracelet.
Brothers Jayce and Wyatt Anderson made the red, white, blue and green rubber band bracelet — inspired by the Phillies’ mascot, Phillie Phanatic — for Harper earlier this season, according to CBS News Philadelphia.
This summer, the boys started making the bracelets, which are reminiscent of the “Rainbow Loom” bracelets that took the world by storm in the early 2010s, and they wanted to make one for their favorite baseball player.
The brothers, who live in New Jersey, sent the bracelet to Harper in September along with their own autographed baseball cards and a letter, wishing him luck.
The Anderson family noticed Harper wearing the bracelet during his team’s series against the New York Mets later that month. Harper has continued wearing it this postseason.
The first baseman was seen wearing it when he hit two home runs against the Atlanta Braves in Game 3 of the NLDS on Wednesday. He was photographed wearing it while he stared down Braves shortstop Orlando Arcia, who mocked Harper after Game 2 and during Game 4.
“He’s the best player ever,” Jayce told CBS News Philadelphia, “and I hope they win the World Series with him.”
His wish for Harper to win the World Series might come true this season. The Phillies play the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first game of the National League Championship Series on Monday.
“You are my favorite baseball player,” Wyatt said, according to CBS News, “and I hope you keep your hitting streak up.”
