Taysom Hill is feeling grateful at the beginning of his long road to recovery.
His recent injury reminded him of how thankful he is for his NFL career and for fans of the New Orleans Saints, Hill wrote on Instagram Thursday.
“It’s times like these that cause you to take a step back and reflect on so many things,” the former BYU quarterback wrote.
Hill added that he’s certainly upset about being injured, but what sticks out to him most from his last New Orleans Saints game of the season is how hard fans were cheering for him.
“There was no greater emotion felt than when I heard our fan base cheer as I left the field,” he wrote.
Taysom Hill injury update
Hill’s injury happened during the Saints’ Dec. 1 game against the Los Angeles Rams.
He left the field late in the fourth quarter after appearing to take a helmet to his left knee, as the Deseret News previously reported.
The next day, NFL insiders revealed that Hill, who is 34, would miss the rest of the NFL season as he recovered from a torn ACL and other knee damage.
In Thursday’s Instagram post, Hill noted that he’ll soon have surgery to repair his knee.
“I am confident that through the help of an incredible medical staff I will make a full recovery,” he wrote.
