Another skill position player is headed to the University of Utah.

Former Tulsa wide receiver Joseph Williams announced Wednesday that he is committed to the Utes.

He becomes the second receiver transfer portal addition for Utah, joining former Mississippi State wide receiver Creed Whittemore.

Who is Joseph Williams?

Williams is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound receiver who hails from Arlington, Texas.

He was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year after catching 30 passes for 588 yards and five touchdowns as a true freshman in 2024.

The big-play threat averaged a team-leading 19.6 yards per reception, which was also 12th nationally.

The highly coveted Williams chose the Utes over several other offers he held from Power 4 schools, among them Mississippi State, Michigan and USC, as well as fellow Big 12 schools Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State, according to his social media activity.

What transfers has Utah added so far this offseason?

Williams is the eighth transfer commit for the Utes thus far.

Utah’s other transfer portal additions are Whittemore, New Mexico quarterback Devon Dampier, New Mexico State running back Mike Washington, Texas A&M cornerback Donovan Saunders, Garden City cornerback Jeremiah Caldwell, Missouri punter Orion Phillips and Oregon linebacker Jaxson Jones.
