Receiver is a position of need for Utah in the transfer portal with the Utes’ two leading receivers — Dorian Singer and Money Parks — graduating.

On Sunday afternoon, Utah took its first step towards addressing that need by landing the commitment of Mississippi State receiver Creed Whittemore.

Whittemore, a former four-star high school prospect, is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 28 receiver in the transfer portal. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Whittemore played two years for Mississppi State, totaling 11 receptions for 102 yards in his freshman season. He also added 60 yards rushing and a score.

In 2024, Whittemore played the first four games for the Bulldogs, catching four passes for 65 yards and adding 41 rushing yards, but chose to redshirt, according to a report from On3′s Robbie Faulk.

Whittemore ran track in high school, posting a 10.85-second 100-meter dash time, according to 247Sports, and could see time with Utah in a slot receiver role.
