The Utah State Aggies men’s basketball and the Utah Utes women’s basketball teams both remained ranked in their respective Associated Press Top 25 polls released Monday morning.
The Aggies moved up three spots this week to No. 22 after going 2-0 last week, while the Utes dropped a spot but are still No. 23 after going 1-1 since last Monday’s poll.
Utah State first beat San Jose State on the road last Tuesday by 7, then beat Boise State on Saturday at home by 2 thanks to a late 4-point play by Ian Martinez.
The Aggies now own a 16-1 record.
As for Utah, it got beat by No. 12 Kansas State last Wednesday at home by 24 but rebounded to beat Big 12-worst Houston by 27 on Saturday, also at home.
The Utes have a record of 13-3.
Utah State is the lone men’s team from the Mountain West Conference to be ranked, though San Diego State and New Mexico also received votes this week.
On the women’s side, Utah is fourth among five ranked teams from the Big 12. TCU is ranked No. 10, Kansas State is No. 11, West Virginia is No. 20 and Oklahoma State is tied with Minnesota at No. 24, with Baylor also receiving votes.
Auburn is ranked No. 1 on the men’s side, while UCLA is ranked No. 1 on the women’s side.
The Aggies will have just one game this week, a road contest Wednesday night against UNLV. The Utes, meanwhile, will take a trip to Texas for two marquee games this week.
First up for Utah is a Tuesday night contest against Baylor, followed by a Friday night tilt against TCU.
