Former ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski is selling some of the phones he used to drop his iconic “Woj bombs.”

The iPhones, his ESPN ID and media credentials from NBA Finals and NBA drafts are part of a new online auction.

Proceeds from the auction will go toward the NIL for his alma mater and current employer, St. Bonaventure University, Wojnarowski explained on X.

In September, Wojnarowski announced he was leaving ESPN and his journalism career to become the general manager of the men’s basketball program at St. Bonaventure, as the Deseret News previously reported.

“This craft transformed my life, but I’ve decided to retire from ESPN and the news industry. I understand the commitment required in my role and it’s an investment that I’m no longer driven to make. Time isn’t in endless supply and I want to spend mine in ways that are more personally meaningful,” he wrote in an X post announcing his decision.

Utah Jazz connection to Woj bomb phones

As of midday Monday, the item tied for the highest bid is an iPhone 11 that has a connection to the Utah Jazz.

Wojnarowski used the phone to break the news that Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell had tested positive for COVID-19, according to the item’s auction description.

This phone was also used to announce that the 2020 NBA season had been suspended and that the league would return to play in “the bubble.”

Any subsequent news shared by Wojnarowski during “the bubble” season was shared through this phone, as well as tweets sent during the NBA’s virtual draft, which saw young stars like Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton get drafted.

As of noon MST on Monday, the current bid for the phone is $750.
