BYU quarterback commit Ryder Lyons has been in the spotlight plenty over the past several months after the Folsom (California) High product committed to the Cougars on “The Pat McAfee Show” back in June.

In the first game of his senior season, Lyons led his Bulldogs squad to a dominant 51-13 victory over defending CIF Division 2-AA state champion Grant Union in a game televised nationally on ESPN.

In Week 2, he accounted for all seven of his team’s touchdowns in a wild 56-42 victory over Junipero Serra.

On Thursday, Lyons announced he has signed a deal with Under Armour.

On Friday, he’ll have the stage to again make headlines, as Folsom faces national power Mission Viejo, from Southern California.

Mission Viejo is ranked No. 11 in MaxPreps’ national high school rankings, while Folsom comes in at No. 30.

The latest California prep rankings from SBLive Sports have this as a No. 3 vs. No. 5 matchup.

There will be a star-studded QB matchup in this one, as Mission Viejo is captained by Ohio State commit Luke Fahey.

It will be the first meeting between the programs, according to SBLive Sports’ Mitch Stephens.

It headlines what should be another busy week of action for recruits committed to either BYU or Utah.

Here’s a rundown of how last week went for both BYU and Utah recruits and who’s on their schedule this week.
