Former Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid is off to the best start to a season in his third NFL campaign with the Buffalo Bills.

On Thursday night, that included making franchise history in the Bills’ 31-21 primetime victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Kincaid became the first Buffalo tight end to record four or more receptions in each of the team’s first three games of a season, according to Clutch Points.

Kincaid caught five passes for 66 yards, both team highs, and a touchdown in the victory. It’s the first time since his rookie season in 2023 that Kincaid has led Buffalo in receiving in a game.

After Miami scored a touchdown on its opening possession to take a 7-0 lead, the Bills countered with a scoring drive of their own.

Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen found Kincaid twice on the 85-yard drive, first on a 9-yard pass to get the Bills to the Miami 21, then two plays later, he connected with the tight end for a 20-yard touchdown pass.

On the scoring play, Allen threw to his left and Kincaid made the catch near the 10-yard line, then stumbled as he moved past a defender before powering his way into the end zone.

Kincaid also caught a 12-yard pass near the end of the first quarter on a touchdown-scoring drive that gave Buffalo a 14-7 lead, and his 19-yard reception in the third quarter to the Miami 1 set up the Bills’ third touchdown of the night.

Kincaid has 13 receptions for 151 yards and two touchdowns and is on pace to have his best NFL season after being a first-round draft pick in 2023.

It was also a memorable night for another Buffalo tight end, former Highland High standout Jackson Hawes.

Hawes, who spent five seasons at Yale before finishing his college career at Georgia Tech, also scored — his 5-yard touchdown catch in the opening minutes of the second quarter gave the Bills a 14-0 lead.

On the score, Allen rolled to his left and Hawes rolled with him before catching a short-flip pass from Allen for the touchdown.

Hawes, who was a fifth-round draft pick by the Bills in April, is already earning rave reviews for his blocking abilities.
