The 4A boys golf regular season came to a close on Monday with the final region tournaments of the season. The focus is now cetnered on the 4A state tournament at Lakeside Golf Course in West Bountiful next Wednesday and Thursday.
Uintah, Crimson Cliffs, East and Ridgeline won their respective region championships and will be among the contenders for the state title.
Crimson Cliffs had the low scoring average in 4A with a 285, with East close behind with a 287.3. Park City is the defending 4A state champ, but finished third in Region 10 this season with a 302.1 scoring average and is a bit of an underdog to repeat.
The region medalists in 4A were Uintah’s Korver Hawkins, Crimson Cliffs’ Dylan Winona and East’s Ben Wright, while in Region 11 Ridgeline’s Beckham Skinner and Dallin Anderson tied for medalist honors.
Winona finished the low scoring average in 4A with a 67.9, followed closely by Anderson and Skinner who tied with 68.2.
