The BYU Cougars football program is getting another reinforcement at tight end, and this one will be a homecoming.

On Friday evening, Oregon transfer and former Orem High star Roger Saleapaga announced his commitment to the Cougars on social media.

Listed by Oregon at 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, Saleapaga played sparingly for the Ducks for two seasons. On Monday, multiple outlets reported that he would be entering the transfer portal, and BYU seemed like a logical fit.

A member of the Class of 2024 out of Orem, Saleapaga was a 3-star prospect. Now he’ll join a rather thin tight end room with the Cougars that is losing 2025 mainstay Carsen Ryan to graduation but has gained USC transfer Walker Lyons this offseason.
