Spanish Fork 3, Timpview 0

Skyline 3, Payson 2
No. 16 Skyline advanced to the second round of the Class 5A playoffs with a thrilling 3-2 win over No. 17 Payson. Clearfield 3, Granger 1

Stansbury 3, Judge Memorial 0

Murray 3, Park City 1
No. 12 Murray advanced to the second round of the Class 4A playoffs with a 3-1 win over No. 21 Park City. After splitting the first two sets, Murray’s Alex Beckstead led the charge with 15 kills, while Aaron Nelson contributed another 13 kills with a .500 hitting percentage. Daniel Haskell was instrumental in setting up the offense, dishing out 50 assists along with 3 aces and 2 total blocks. The Spartans secured the victory by taking the final two sets 25-17 and 25-20.
Highland 3, Dixie 1
Robert McAdams led Highland with 28 kills as the Rams defeated Dixie 3-1 in the Class 4A first-round matchup. Highland secured the first two sets 25-18 and 25-20, but Dixie rallied to take the third set 26-24. McAdams’ performance was supported by Owen McDermott, who contributed 15 kills, and Quincy Rowland’s 10 kills. Brixton Whoolery’s 11 kills helped propel No. 19 Hurricane to a 3-1 victory over No. 14 Mountain Crest in the Class 4A first-round playoffs. Logan Fisher led with 12 kills, while Breckan Jessup contributed 33 assists in a match where Hurricane overcame an initial set loss, 25-23, to claim the next three, 25-15, 25-21, and 25-14. Provo 3, Bear River 0

Key performances included Jadon Durbin’s 7 kills and Matt Johnson’s contribution with 10 kills and 15 service points, helping Cedar City advance to face No. 1 seed Mountain View in the second round.
3A Playoffs
Logan 3, Union 0
Logan, the No. 7 seed, swept No. 10 Union 3-0 in the opening round of the 3A Playoffs, decisively taking each set 25-20, 25-15, and 25-16. Logan’s Eric Fuentes made a notable contribution with 6 kills, achieving a .316 hitting percentage. Key to Logan’s success was Pearson Needham with 23 assists and 9 digs, orchestrating the offense efficiently. Carbon 3, Ben Lomond 2

Utah Military Hillfield 3, Wasatch Academy 1
No. 8 seed Utah Military Hillfield secured a 99-65 victory over No. 9 Wasatch Academy on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds dominated early, taking a commanding lead with a score of 25-14 by the end of the first quarter. They maintained their momentum throughout, with their largest single-period scoring coming in the third quarter at 26. The Wasatch Academy Tigers rallied somewhat in the fourth but could not close the gap. With this win, Utah Military Hillfield advances to face No. 1 Salt Lake Academy in the second round on May 8.
Maeser Prep 3, Rockwell 0
In a decisive first-round victory, No. 5 seed Maeser Prep swept No. 12 seed Rockwell 3-0 in the 2A playoffs. With dominant performances across the court, Ammon Mefford showcased defensive prowess with multiple solo blocks while also contributing 19 assists. Offensive standout JeVanko Stewart recorded 9 kills with great efficiency, aided by Levi Richardson and Mason Hemingway, who each added 7 kills to the tally. Libero En-Lun Chang controlled the defensive pace with 14 passes and several remarkable digs, ensuring Rockwell was unable to find their rhythm. Maeser Prep will advance to face the winner of the No. 4 Freedom Prep Academy matchup on May 8th at UVU.
Dugway 3, APA West Valley 0
The No. 6 Dugway Mustangs swept the No. 11 APA West Valley Eagles 3-0 in a decisive first-round 2A playoff match. Dugway’s Gary Williams Jr. was unstoppable on the attack, racking up 18 kills to lead the Mustangs. The Eagles managed their highest set score of 21 in the third set, but couldn’t overcome the Mustangs’ dominant play throughout the match. Jake Kushiyama contributed significantly for Dugway with 18 assists and 3 aces, helping secure their place in the second round against Draper APA on May 8.
