Going into the first full week of NFL preseason action, which kicks off Thursday, there are a whopping 39 former University of Utah players on NFL rosters.

That’s a group that includes nine rookies, four of whom were taken in the 2026 NFL draft.

While veteran guys like Garett Bolles, Jaylon Johnson and Devin Lloyd won’t have anything to prove in the preseason — and aren’t likely to play much, if at all — others like the rookie group that includes first-round draft picks Spencer Fano and Caleb Lomu will have their opportunities to make an impression before the regular season begins.

Of the 48 preseason games over the next three weeks, 44 of them will involve at least one former Ute.
