Highlights from BYU’s 2026-27 Big 12 schedule

The Cougars will play three conference opponents at both home and away this season:

  • Arizona is coming off of a Big 12 championship and Final Four appearance, with Tommy Lloyd’s Wildcats remaining a trendy title contender for 2027. BYU lost twice to Arizona in 2026, coming just three points shy of upsetting the No. 1-ranked Wildcats in Provo.
  • TCU, a former Mountain West Conference rival for the Cougars, has reached the NCAA Tournament in four of the past five seasons under Jamie Dixon and won its first round matchup as a No. 9 seed last year. BYU defeated the Horned Frogs 76-70 at the Marriott Center in their lone 2026 meeting.
  • Utah and BYU will continue their historic rivalry with showdowns in Provo (Jan. 16) and Salt Lake City (Feb. 6), as Alex Jensen’s Runnin’ Utes look to take a step forward as a program and avenge last season’s pair of losses to the Cougars.

BYU will also travel to Arizona State, Iowa State, Houston, Colorado and UCF for the first time since 2025, with Cincinnati, Kansas, West Virginia, Baylor, Kansas State and Oklahoma State each making their return to Provo as well.

Six of the Cougars’ nine Big 12 road games will be against NCAA Tournament teams from 2026, while only three reigning tournament squads will come to the Marriott Center.

Additionally, BYU will host four teams it lost to last season — Cincinnati, West Virginia, Arizona and Oklahoma State — for a new opportunity to obtain some revenge, and the Cougars’ newest attempt to earn their first conference win over Houston will come on the road.

After matching up twice last season, BYU and Texas Tech will only meet once in conference play this year: a standalone, primetime Friday night battle in Lubbock on March 5.
