One of Lori Vallow Daybell’s closest friends just broke her silence about the ongoing missing children’s case involving Vallow Daybell’s children.
What’s the news:
Melanie Gibb — who is reportedly Vallow’s “best friend” — told EastIdahoNews.com that she knew Vallow and her husband, Chad Daybell, had separate phones to talk to each other. The couple would spend time together without their own spouses.
EastIdahoNews.com reporter Nate Eaton asked Gibb if Vallow was falling in love with Daybell.
- Gibb said: “Yeah, I knew that they pretty much hit it off. I actually did offer the idea like, ‘Why don’t you just go ahead and get a divorce?’ They were told that they weren’t allowed to (by who they were communicating with on the other side).”
Gibb told EastIdahoNews.com that she has remained silent out of fear for what might happen to her.
- She said: “When you realize the people that you know and you’re close to and love have been involved in something that has to do with people dying, you start to think, ‘Oh my gosh, are they going to come after me?’. Everything closes in, and you start to think about your own safety … (and) what really happened, and could this really be true?”
- She said she is coming forward to help the victims: “I think it’s fair to Charles and JJ and Tammy and Tylee that somebody is standing up for what happened to them. I do care for them and the families that are involved,” Gibb says. “I decided that the truth was more important than what I wanted. My goal is to speak to the things that have gone on and to those who have believed Chad and Lori’s story.”
