U.S. cities saw protests and riots for the sixth straight day Sunday, leaving neighborhoods demolished and urban streets on lockdown.
From one coast to the other, protests worked their way through U.S. cities, many in the name of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died when a white police officer knelt on his neck.
Cities activated the National Guard to come and control chaos and violence trickling through streets.
According to The Associated Press, protesters “hurled rocks and Molotov cocktails at police in Philadelphia, set a fire near the White House and were hit with tear gas and pepper spray in Austin, Texas, and other cities. Seven Boston police officers were hospitalized.”
