A mountain lion was recently captured on camera stalking a group of young children in a San Francisco neighborhood.

What happened:

Timothy Kerrisk captured footage of the mountain lion, which he thought was a dog at first. He saw that the animal was watching children from across the street, KRON reports.

  • “I went outside to go look for my cat who had gotten out earlier and when I went outside I opened the door. ... I thought it was a German Shepherd at first, I was like ‘oh, somebody’s dog,” he said, according to ABC-7 News.
  • “Then I looked and it turned back and looked at me, and I was like .... ‘that’s a mountain lion.’”
  • “I started yelling at the kids, ‘Get inside! Get inside! Get inside!’”

Kerrisk uploaded the video without audio. He said the audio included him “yelling for the neighbor across the street to come down and grab the kids.”

As you can see, the mountain lion ducked under a nearby truck. It eventually left the area after all the commotion.
