Four former presidents of the United States recently united in a new campaign to get people using the COVID-19 vaccine.

What’s happening?

The Ad Council recently released a new video of former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama encouraging people to get the vaccine, The Hill reports.

  • “This vaccine means hope. It will protect you and those you love from this dangerous and deadly disease,” Obama said in the video.

The ad — titled “It’s Up to You” — shows the former presidents and their spouses receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. That’s right. You’ll see Rosalynn Carter, Michelle Obama, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton in the ad, too.

Each president talked about what they want to see come next after getting vaccinated. Bush said he wants to attend “opening day at Texas Rangers Stadium with a full stadium.”

Why is Trump not there?

The Washington Post reports parts of the ads were filmed in December 2020 when former President Donald Trump was still in office. Parts of the video were also filmed at President Joe Biden’s inauguration, which Trump did not attend.
