The Treasury Department announced Tuesday that Social Security recipients and other Americans who don’t normally file tax returns can expect their stimulus check payments by the weekend, CNBC reports.

  • The payments will likely be sent electronically.
  • The stimulus check payments will hit bank accounts by April 7, according toCNBC.

The Internal Revenue Service began sending out stimulus checks in the middle of March. Some people’s checks have been delayed for various reasons.

Those “who receive Social Security, Supplemental Security Income and Railroad Retirement benefits have been delayed because the Social Security Administration (SSA) lagged in sending the IRS the information it needed,” according to CNBC.

Why didn’t you get a stimulus check?

If you don’t get a stimulus check, it might be because you don’t qualify for it. I explained the qualifications for the Deseret News. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Individuals who make $80,000 or less will receive the full payment.
  • Some married couples who make $160,000 or less will receive the entire payment.
  • Your stimulus check could be less than $1,400, though. Individuals who earn $75,000 to $80,000 may see a lesser amount. That’s the same for couples who make between $150,000 and $160,000.
