While a few places in the U.S. enjoyed the opportunity to experience an eclipse, Europe was treated to the galactic show during Wednesday’s solar eclipse.
That included in Spain, which had not seen a total eclipse since the early 1900s, according to experts. The most recent total solar eclipse in Europe was in 1999.
According to NASA, the Aug. 12 eclipse was visible from 26 states and Washington, D.C., weather permitting. Six countries, primarily in Europe and Africa, will experience a total solar eclipse.
America’s next coast-to-coast total solar eclipse isn’t until 2045. In the meantime, enjoy these photos from Associated Press photographers around the globe.
