KANOSH, Millard County — A mother and her teenage daughter were killed, as well as another woman, in a crash in Millard County on Saturday morning, troopers said.
About 6 a.m., a Ford Ranger driven by Candace Marie Young, 48, from Las Vegas was headed north on I-15 just south of Kanosh in Millard County, the Utah Highway Patrol said. The road in the area curves gradually to the right, troopers said, but “the driver continued in a straight line off the left side of the road.”
The driver then overcorrected to the right, crossed all lanes of traffic, and then steered “sharply back to the left,” according to the UHP. The vehicle then rolled, ejecting Angelina Smith, 13, from the back window, troopers said.
The driver was partially ejected.
A third passenger, Celeste Drennan, 46, from Bountiful, was also killed, troopers said.
Both the driver and third passenger were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, the UHP said.
