SANDY — According to police search warrants, a Sandy man who died in a December crash on Wasatch Boulevard had been drinking.
Kyle Austin Inglet, 20, was driving on Wasatch Boulevard on the morning of Dec. 21 when he crashed near 10850 South. Witnesses told police Inglet was driving erratically before losing control of his car and crashing into multiple landscaping boulders and a tree, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in 3rd District.
Inglet was ejected from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital in critical condition where he later died from his injuries. At the time, Sandy police stated the alcohol was being investigated as a possible factor.
According to the search warrant, the other two men in the car, who received minor injuries, admitted that “all occupants, including the driver, (were) drinking while the vehicle was being operated.”
Police also found empty beer cans in the car, the warrant states.
A GoFundMe campaign was started to help pay for funeral expenses.
