PAYSON — A 35-year-old woman was killed in a horseback riding accident near Payson Wednesday evening.
Shauna Ann Martin had just moved to south Utah County from Wyoming, according to a press release from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. Martin was riding a horse about 6:15 p.m. at a ranch just west of I-15 near Payson when a ranch hand heard her scream.
“She reportedly fell from the horse and her head struck a pole, causing severe head injuries,” the press release said. “It was clear after the accident that her injuries were fatal.”
