SALT LAKE CITY — Connectivity issues that affected 911 lines throughout many agencies in Utah on Saturday have been fixed.
The issues faced by various cellphone were repaired by Sunday morning, according to multiple police departments.
Agencies that reported the outages include Provo, St. George, Woods Cross, Layton, Bountiful, Cottonwood Heights, Sandy and Salt Lake City police departments, as well as Summit and Davis county sheriff’s offices.
While some had reported Verizon phones were failing to connect to 911, SLC 911 Bureau ran tests on calls with Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile phones, and they all intermittently experienced trouble getting through to 911, bureau director Lisa Burnette said Saturday.
Residents who weren’t able to get through to 911 were urged to call their city’s non-emergency dispatch.
Layton police officials reminded residents in a Twitter message to keep the non-emergency numbers handy.
